Jack Allen
Infrastructure expert with three decades of experience and strong client relations to grow firm’s environmental planning group
Jack Allen joined HNTB Corporation as environmental planning professional services leader and vice president. In his professional services role at HNTB, Allen will be responsible for collaborating with division presidents, office leaders, and division planning leaders to grow HNTB’s planning services.
Allen is an experienced program director and National Environmental Policy Act practitioner who has led interdisciplinary impact analysis, social and natural sciences and strategic regulatory planning.
Allen’s 30-year career provides him significant and in-depth understanding of federal and state NEPA provisions affecting evolving environmental trends. His specialty is the NEPA process for large, complex, and often controversial, public works projects – facilitating and drafting purpose and need, alternatives development and screening processes, technical analyses, and public and agency outreach.
“Jack has real-world experience working with clients to address complex, time-consuming planning, permitting and environmental resource management needs. He will provide collaborative support to all of our geographical divisions and their planning leadership for strategy and growth,” said Kevin Nelson, HNTB chief growth officer and senior vice president.
Allen is a committee member for Committee ADC10 of the Transportation Research Board, National Academy of Sciences. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in recreation and parks management from California State University-Chico, graduating cum laude.
