Grant Thornton’s Dallas Office Admits Eric Burgess as Advisory Partner and Graham Dyer as Audit Partner

Grant Thornton LLP admitted Eric Burgess as Advisory partner and Graham Dyer as Audit partner and promoted David Dominguez to Advisory managing director and Barbara Stanton to Tax managing director in the firm’s Dallas office. Across the firm, Grant Thornton admitted 47 new partners and principals and promoted 29 professionals to managing director.

Partners and principals admitted to the firm are proven leaders that have demonstrated excellence in embracing the firm’s values and helping clients achieve smart, quality growth in all aspects of their businesses. Noted for their exceptional contributions to Grant Thornton, these experienced professionals demonstrate a great ability to build relationships with clients and people at all levels of the firm. Managing directors are the highest-level employee position in the firm and are important members of the firm’s leadership team.

Burgess joined the firm in 2012 and has developed extensive Transaction Services experience serving as an advisor to multinational companies, middle market private equity firms, mezzanine lenders, and domestic corporations. He has been involved in more than 300 buy-or-sell side transactions with over 60 different investor groups. His transaction experience includes buy- and sell-side financial due diligence and he has performed significant consulting work involving debt and equity financing, post-acquisition accounting and integration, and financial and operational insights. Prior to being admitted as partner, Burgess served as a director in the Transaction Services practice.

Burgess is a certified public accountant (CPA), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs. He is involved with Leadership for the Arts in Dallas. He received a master’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Dyer joined the firm in 2005. He is a member of Grant Thornton’s National Accounting Principles Group, where he consults with clients on complex accounting matters, including business combinations, fair value, consolidations, allowance for loan loss and accounting for financial assets. Dyer specifically focuses on aspects of banking, including regulatory reporting and SOX/FDICIA matters. Prior to being admitted as partner, Dyer served as a senior manager; he has also spent two years with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a professional accounting fellow.

Dyer is a CPA in Texas and a member of the AICPA and the Texas Society of CPAs. Dyer received master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from the University of Texas.

Dominguez joined the firm in 2007 and has nearly 25 years of leadership experience, both within industry and as a business consultant. His experience spans various industries including technology, life sciences, energy, manufacturing, health care and not-for-profit. Dominguez has provided and led business consulting services internationally, including work with clients in Canada, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. Prior to being promoted to managing director, Dominguez served as a director in Business Advisory Services.

Dominguez is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Project Management Professional, and is an active member and volunteer for the Dallas chapter of the Project Management Institute. Dominguez received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from New Mexico State University.

Stanton joined the firm in 2012 and has more than 15 years of public accounting experience providing comprehensive tax services to public and private middle market businesses. She has managed complex tax planning and compliance engagements, has extensive knowledge of ASC 740 accounting for income taxes, and has provided tax consultation related to mergers and acquisitions to include transaction cost analysis, IRC Sec. 382 studies and acquisition accounting. Prior to being promoted to managing director, Stanton served as a director.

Stanton is a CPA in Georgia and North Carolina and is a member of the AICPA and the Georgia Society of CPAs. Stanton received master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Wake Forest University.
