Unique program shares information to inspire parents, help babies
When the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council and the City of Dallas wanted to launch a multi-city initiative throughout the 13-county Metroplex area, they called upon the services ofAgency Creative, a leading North Texas advertising agency that specializes in connecting brands to their customers. Agency Creative brought Growing Little Minds to life by creating and executing a program that is expected to make a positive difference for the next generation of North Texans.
Growing Little Minds is a free program that highlights simple steps that can be taken at home during the child’s first 12 months of life to foster and promote brain development in infants and toddlers. The initiative was inspired by Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and supported by Steve Love, CEO of the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council. They challenged the advertising agency with a simple task: get the word out without necessarily using words.
Agency Creative Founder and CEO Mark Wyatt said, “The challenge stimulated our creativity, and the cause embraced our hearts. We were honored to formulate the initiative that would impact a whole new generation.”
To create the campaign and key messaging, Agency Creative conducted extensive research with brain development specialists, nurses and members of the DFW Hospital Council. They then tested messages and tone in focus groups with new parents.
Agency Creative created the name and branding campaign for Growing Little Minds that includes an engaging video about newborn care, in both English and Spanish, and other information for parents on the bilingual website,www.growinglittleminds.com. The campaign’s emphasis on social media grew out of learnings from the focus groups, and integrated social media feeds on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram provide helpful tips and let parents connect and compare notes with a growing community. In addition, they developed postcards, posters, social press kits, and giveaway items for new parents.
Most importantly, the program was created to be instantly understandable by those with a variety of educational and literacy levels, delivered through engaging content that is easily accessible and shareable. Agency Creative paid special attention to capture fun yet educational visuals that could be easily understood without words.
