C. C. Young, a premier, non-profit senior living community, announced today that Rev. Dr. Brenda Rose, an ordained United Methodist minister and Dallas native, has joined its staff as a Pastoral Care Minister. As a member of C. C. Young’s Pastoral Care Ministry Team, Dr. Rose will ensure all aspects of spiritual care is offered and close connections are made in and around the C. C. Young campus. She will be providing visitation, counseling, assessment, worship services, communion, and support to all residents, families and team members.

“We are pleased to have an ordained United Methodist minister join our staff. Our purpose is to help our residents grow spiritually, to deepen their faith,” said Rev. Dr. Don R. Benton, C. C. Young’s Pastoral Care Coordinator. “We believe Dr. Rose has the credentials to do that."

Rose graduated from South Garland High School and left Dallas in 1980 to pursue a bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned master’s degree in theology from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and after having done course work and clinical work in North Carolina, earned her Doctorate of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation in Mishawaka, Indiana. Her doctorate is in pastoral counseling, a faith-based type of psychotherapy.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing team of C. C. Young and feel called and blessed to serve this community as a resident Pastoral Care Minister,” Rose said. “I have felt God's presence and leading throughout the entire process. I'm so thankful to be part of an organization which focuses on servanthood.”
