Edgemere, an SQLC retirement community, is pleased to announce the promotion of Glenda Leach to director of nursing. Leach joined Edgemere in 2008 as assistant director of nursing, managing daily operations of skilled nursing for The Plaza at Edgemere.

“Glenda’s relationship with residents and ability to manage her team has continued to impress me over the past eight years,” said John Falldine, managing director of Edgemere. “Her leadership skills combined with her experience in operations, human resources and advocacy are a tremendous asset, and her promotion to director of nursing is well deserved.”

Prior to joining Edgemere, Leach spent two years as a charge nurse for a senior living community in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she was responsible for the oversight of daily resident care in addition to preparing and administering medications and coordinating treatment protocols with home health staff. Board certified in geriatrics, her experience also includes three years as a charge nurse at a 48-bed senior living community in Kingwood, Texas. In Leach’s new role, she will plan and direct all day-to-day functions of nursing operations in accordance with applicable company, federal, state and local standards to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is provided to all current and future Edgemere residents.

“I feel blessed to work for the premier senior living community in Dallas,” said Leach. “I have learned so much here, and I look forward to continuing to grow both personally and professionally in this new role,” said Leach. “It’s an exciting time at Edgemere as we continue to enhance our offerings and resources for residents and their families with the expansion of The Plaza and the addition of 12 memory support suites and 15 private skilled nursing suites.”
