This Multi-Cultural Celebration Will Feature A Variety Of Traditional Faith-Based Presentations
What: The Interfaith Council of The Thanks-Giving Foundation is proud to present the third annual “Winter Festival of Faiths” celebration at Thanks-Giving Square on Monday, December 19, 2016. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a diverse variety of faith and cultural groups will showcase their religious and winter holiday sentiments through dance, chanting, traditional singing, percussion and instrumental music. The purpose of this enlightening multi-cultural celebration is to educate and enrich understanding of many faith traditions that celebrate the onset of winter with a religious and cultural expression of joy in the season, as well as share a message of common humanity. This production will be enjoyable and educational for people of all ages.
Festival of Faiths will include presentations by Aztlan Dance Group; CSLDallas, A Center for Spiritual Living, Dallas Baha’i’ Center, Dallas Black Dance Theater, Dallas Street Choir, DFW Sikh Youth Bhangra, Holy Trinity Hellenic Dancers, Ismaili Muslim Youth Choir of Dallas, Northway Christian Church Music Ministry, Oak Lawn Methodist Church, Temple Emanu-El, The Dallas Indian Mission UMC, The Korean Traditional Music Association of Texas and Vedic Chants.

ABOUT INTERFAITH COUNCIL: The Interfaith Council of The Thanks-Giving Foundation includes representatives from more than 25 faith traditions and promotes understanding and fellowship through regular meet annual lecture series focusing on topics of current interest, and community service projects. Together, they explore understanding and acceptance among diverse faith traditions.
ABOUT THANKS-GIVING SQUARE: Thanks-Giving Square is a beautiful three-acre park, chapel, and museum in downtown Dallas with a setting to inspire gratitude. The park is an oasis for our city’s growing residential life, as well as a daily spot to hear rushing water and a respite for professionals who work in the nearby high-rise office buildings. Our chapel has a unique spiral exterior designed by world famous architect Philip Johnson and an interior spiral of 73 stained-glass panels created by French artist Gabriel Loire.
The Thanks-Giving Foundation, a Texas non-profit corporation, provides funding for and management of Thanks-Giving Square. The organization comprises Thanks-Giving Square, Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square – Faith leaders united for peace and justice, Interfaith Council, Neighbors Council, a full-time staff, and the support of thousands of visitors who come to the Square each year from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
