Maureen “Mo” Underwood, Executive Vice President of People (Human Resources) at TDIndustries (TD) has been named the recipient of the 2016 Magnolia Award by TEXO. The award was presented during TEXO’s Holiday and Awards Gala at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas on December 2, 2016.
The Magnolia Award is presented annually to a woman in construction for outstanding excellence in job performance, continued commitment to education, and demonstration of leadership through promoting a positive image for the construction industry. The recipient acts as a role model for other women in the industry and is an active participant in the community, including charitable acts.
“Mo has helped countless people in our industry grow themselves through her individual coaching, speaking at local and national industry events, and serving on the Board at the Construction Education Foundation,” says Harold MacDowell, CEO of TDIndustries. “Her contributions have truly made a difference to our industry and to those in our community.”
Underwood leads the People Department, providing employment, training, benefits, safety and risk management to TD’s more than 2,300 Partners. Before joining TDIndustries in 2006, she served as Director of Partner Resources for Starbucks Corp., and Vice President of HR for Metromedia Restaurant Group. Underwood has also had a distinguished 14-year career with McDonald’s Corp., where she served as Regional Construction Manager, Director of Diversity, and Director of Executive Development for both corporate and field operations.
