The American Cancer Society (ACS) is pleased to welcome Lolette May as the new North Texas area executive director of community development. The North Texas Area includes the Dallas and Fort Worth markets, and the Texas Panhandle.

May most recently served as the director of development for The National Breast Cancer Foundation. Her previous experience includes 15 years in the private sector. May has been actively involved in the nonprofit sector as a volunteer leader, especially with organizations that impact women and children.

“American Cancer Society is in the business of creating more birthdays, and we’re making incredible progress,” said May. “Because of our grassroots network model, each of us has an opportunity to make an impact, regardless of age, race or economic background. I want our supporters to know their donations are going to lifesaving research and development. You and I could be a part of the next breakthrough in cancer treatment, and who couldn’t get excited about that?”

As a graduate of Baylor University, May brings vast experience and a proven track record of success, with significant insight into fundraising and strategic development.

Active with a number of North Texas nonprofits, May has served on the boards of The Family Place, Big Thought Creative Solutions, Salvation Army Auxiliary, The Children's Medical Auxiliary and the Dallas Women's Club Marianne Scruggs Junior Group. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Dallas.
