Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announces an innovative pilot program offering Headspace in the Workplace, a meditation program aimed at enhancing mental health and wellness, in six of its US offices. As part of Dentons’ innovative Wellness for Life initiative, the program launches in the Firm’s Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, MO., Short Hills, NJ and St. Louis offices as a resource for lawyers and staff to use as a meditation and mindfulness guide while they balance life and work.
“A healthy work environment is a key priority,” said US HR Director Jill Maganza-Ruiz. “Consistent with other Firm initiatives centered around health and wellness, Headspace in the Workplace expands the resources available for our lawyers and business services staff to use and hone in on their individual needs which support and promote positive mental and emotional wellbeing.”
Lawyers, professionals and staff in the pilot offices will access Headspace in the Workplace through a mobile App or website and choose from meditation sessions that guide them through a variety of topics ranging from stress to sleep, focus and performance. Engaging videos, progress tracking and sharing capabilities are just a few features the program provides, all while teaching mindful reflection and work-life balance management skills. Completely individualized, the program allows participants to schedule sessions as they fit best to their unique and busy schedules.
Dentons expanded its Wellness for Life program for lawyers, professionals and business services staff, which now includes monthly internal webinars on a range of topics, including work-life balance, mindfulness, prioritizing and managing stress. The Firm is also currently testing a pilot program offering an onsite wellness coach to help address professional or personal issues and provide counselling or offer referrals. Dentons was also an early signatory of the American Bar Association’s pledge and campaign to improve the mental health and well-being of lawyers.
