DLA Piper Advises Lightspeed Systems in Investment by Madison Dearborn Partners

DLA Piper represented Austin, Texas-based education technology company Lightspeed Systems in connection with a strategic growth investment it received from private equity funds advised by Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC.

Lightspeed Systems offers the multi-OS Relay cloud platform that filters, monitors and manages student web access, distributed devices and classroom activities and provides reporting and student safety tools. The company partners with 6,500 districts in the United States and 28,000 schools around the world. It also has offices in Portland and the UK and serves more than 15 million students in 35 countries. The investment will allow Lightspeed to move its growth strategy forward and extend its market leadership position.

The DLA Piper team representing Lightspeed Systems was led by partner Bradley Gersich (Silicon Valley) and included partners SeoJung Park, William Hoffman (both of Silicon Valley) and Yunus Maka(Manchester) and associates Philipp Tsukanov and Syeda Nawroj (both of Silicon Valley).
