James C. Bookhout, an associate in DLA Piper's Litigation practice, was recently named to D Magazine's 2020 Best Lawyers Under 40 list, which recognizes outstanding young lawyers in Dallas.

Bookhout focuses his practice on complex business litigation, particularly involving mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and sophisticated investment or corporate governance disputes. He represents clients in a variety of industries, including private equity, investment banking, hedge funds, venture capital and financial services. His experience encompasses cases in both federal and state court through all phases of trial, from contractual disputes to bet-the-company litigation.

Bookhout has extensive knowledge regarding M&A litigation, having represented clients in disputes with both buyers and sellers in a number of significant transactions involving indemnification and fraud claims. He has also successfully represented clients in other types of complex investment disputes, including fiduciary duty litigation.
