Marc Peeler and Rick Ragan

In a measured approach to its 2020 growth, NewQuest Properties' investment sales group has recruited a 10-year veteran and a rising star for its ranks.

Marc Peeler and Rick Ragan have joined NewQuest as vice president and associate, respectively. Both professionals were formerly affiliated with the Stan Johnson Co.

"The addition of Marc and Rick is a testament to NewQuest's commitment to pursue high-quality talent in the marketplace. It's more about depth of the team versus breadth," says David Luther, executive vice president and leader of the investment sales group for the Houston-based brokerage firm.

Peeler has been on Luther's radar screen at least three years. He most recently was associate director of investment sales at Stan Johnson Co. where his team transacted over $600 million in acquisitions and dispositions of retail, medical, industrial and office assets. Prior to Stan Johnson, Peeler worked at Transwestern and an independent brokerage shop in the Heights. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

"I've done business with NewQuest and have friends in the firm. Having a full range of commercial services under one roof will greatly benefit my clients, who understand the added value," says Peeler, a Houston native. "As for me, I am bringing substantial market knowledge and a strong drive to develop new business."

Ragan is marking his fifth year in the industry. His primary focus has been multifamily and net lease properties, resulting in established relationships with investors in the Southeast and Gulf Coast markets. He formerly served as an investment analyst at Stan Johnson Co. and an associate at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services. He holds a degree in finance from Louisiana State University.

"Marc Peeler and Rick Ragan are results oriented, trusted professionals in commercial real estate, which is of the utmost importance when we pursue new talent for our team," says Katherine Hatcher, NewQuest's president and COO.

Luther's investment sales group has deep ties to institutional and private investors and owners in all property sectors nationwide. The team's competitive edge is its extensive market knowledge and longtime relationships in Texas and beyond.

"NewQuest's full-service brokerage platform will enable Marc and Rick to grow their game," Luther says, "as we make a concerted push to increase market share and expand our brand."
