ElectriCities Partners with Tyler Technologies

6/21/16

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with ElectriCities of North Carolina, Inc., to be the recommended vendor to its membership for Tyler’s Incode® utility billing solution.

ElectriCities serves more than 70 municipalities in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, all of which run electric systems that provide power to metered customers. ElectriCities has assisted many of its members’ transitions to advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems, modernizing the delivery of electric power; however, a number of small and mid-sized member cities knew their legacy utility billing solutions would not align with new AMI systems.

Recognizing the demand for a scalable, affordable billing solution to offer its members with 2,000 to 25,000 metered customers, ElectriCities contacted vendors that not only offered utility billing software, but also would be able to offer financial solutions to modernize older accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems as needed. After a comprehensive evaluation process that included ElectriCities leadership and representatives from seven member municipalities, Tyler was selected as the preferred vendor for ElectriCities to recommend Incode to its membership as new utility billing software.

“We heard from a number of our members that their current utility billing systems were antiquated and did not complement their AMI systems,” said Andrew Fusco, vice president of member services and corporate planning for ElectriCities of North Carolina. “After evaluating a number of product demonstrations, it was clear Tyler’s Incode solution perfectly aligned with their functionality needs at a price point that would accommodate their budgets. By partnering with Tyler, we can offer a solution that will help our members future-proof their cities while expanding services to their customers.”

This agreement with Tyler enables ElectriCities to offer Incode at a preferred price and implementation terms to members.

“We are excited that ElectriCities selected Tyler and the Incode solution for financials and utility billing as a recommended solution for their member cities,” said Dane Womble, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “We look forward to partnering with ElectriCities in implementing the Incode solution in their member cites. The fully integrated Incode solution will help drive operational efficiencies with our mobile solutions, citizen self-service applications and persona-based user interface. Combining Tyler’s deep domain and experience with ElectriCities’ intimate knowledge of their member cities will create a unique and powerful partnership that will greatly benefit the member cities, and ultimately benefit their citizens.”

ElectriCities members that sign agreements for Incode will access the solution via software-as-a-service (SaaS), with ElectriCities hosting the solution in its own data centers.

The preferred vendor agreement between ElectriCities and Tyler lets member cities avoid costly and time-consuming RFP processes; they can leverage this new agreement as a member of ElectriCities to work directly with Tyler to implement Incode.
